The human bodies around us are made up of bone structures that are small, medium, or large. The combined effects of the muscles and that bone structure have a role in appearance of the body frame in maturity. As being overweight brings back pain, weight and its relation to bone structure must be considered.
A woman with a medium bone structure having a height of 5' 2" may weigh 135 pounds and still not be overweight. A woman with a large bone structure may weigh a few pounds more and yet not be overweight.
The meals we consume however now have a big effect on obesity. The changes in content must be partially blamed on the FDA, which authorizes harmful additives to food products, which in turn induce cravings. Obesity will be a major health concern in the future, just consider the 12 to 14 year old children now showing large bodies. Later in life currently prominent features of the body will be added to by big midriffs and upper legs, etc. These are precursors of back pain.
Causes of back pain may vary, but it is the most unbearable of pains. Back pain is usually part of a chain of reactions, beginning with bones in the skeleton and moving onto the skeletal muscles. Thereafter, the list is as follows.
• Collagen
• Calcium
• Magnesium
• Phosphates
• Joints
• Ligaments
• Cartilages
• Tendons
• Synovium
• Fibers
• Connective tissues
• Nerve endings
• Finally, the Central Nervous System
This chain reaction has detrimental effects leading to deterioration of the hormones, the metabolism and the weight bearing muscles and joints. Obesity not only causes intense back pain but increases this chain reaction. Take as an example the back pain associated with trying to and failing in an attempt to carry or lift a heavy object, which will slow down future activities, altering life dramatically and finally cause muscles inactivity leading to obesity.
Exercise and healthy spines go together and eliminate obesity by reducing fat by working the muscles and indirectly reduce the incidences of back pain.
Emotions too have a role in obesity and are very powerful and tricky too. Action must be taken to form a plan, well defined and with a target loss within a fixed short term period determined. Attempts at weight loss should focus on these short term targets.
Reduced weight will bring about changes in the spine that will include reduction in back pain. A proven method for quick fat reduction is dance aerobics.
Weight loss strengthens stomach muscles as well as those in the spinal column. A part of these health advantages is less back pain but the chain reactions continue in a natural flow. Stress to the muscles and joints, is greatly reduced, but overexertion of them, must be avoided.
